A Prettie Quick Getaway
A few weeks ago a couple of the Prettie Girls! headed to the Lone Star State for a quick getaway. Valencia, Lena, and Alexie joined their friend Sis at a wedding, and then squeezed in some extra excursions while they were away. We don’t know about you, but we love to look for excuses to get together for a girls’ weekend.
The girls had time for two local adventures before heading back to reality. The Prettie Girls! jumped at the chance to spend the afternoon in a place dedicated to creativity, design, adventure, imagination and toys. When you are only 16 inches tall, any place that makes you feel tall is a welcome escape, so Legoland was their first stop.
Would you have guessed that the Dallas skyline pictured is actually made of thousands of tiny plastic bricks? It’s amazing what you can create with a little imagination, hard work, and the right tools.
After a day of fun and play, the Prettie Girls! were ready for a little R&R. Where is the best place for some peace and quiet in a bustling city, why the arboretum of course! The girls enjoyed some sunshine, fresh air, and beautiful scenery. Walking through all the flowers reminded them of something Gladys Knight said at this year’s Black Girls Rock! Awards, “Our differences, our colors, we’re like a garden. We’re all beautiful.”
This trip may have not been long, but the Prettie Girls! made the most of their time. In the end, it actually doesn’t matter where you are, if you are with friends, anything can be an adventure!
